RWIS User Software

QTT offers three distinct software solutions for viewing Road/ Runway Weather Information System (RWIS) data.  Our Navigator software is available in two versions – a hosted-server solution or a customer-owned server solution.  Navigator software allows you to customize data views and set up alarming and alerting notification based on weather parameters of your choice.  Our SCAN PC software package is specifically designed for customers that do not require a server and have only a few RWIS sites to manage.

RWIS collects vital information from pavement, weather and traffic sensors. Viewing the data is just as important as the system collecting it! The ability to view RWIS data quickly and easily enables maintenance and operations personnel to monitor changing weather conditions in real time and make informed and timely decisions. SCAN Web Navigator™

SCAN Web Navigator is designed for customers using their own data collection server(s).  This allows for full control of data collection, server maintenance, upgrades, communications, etc.  SCAN Web Navigator software has a large storage capacity for data and is ideal for large RWIS networks.  It is capable of displaying any number of RWIS sensor measurements - from current pavement status to streaming video to traffic speeds or air quality.

Navigator is user-friendly and allows you to customize data views, such as adding your own map images or selecting which data parameters appear to different user groups (an administrator may look at additional data such as traffic conditions, while day-to-day operations personnel view a standard set of data).  One of the most powerful aspects of the SCAN Web Navigator software is the alarming and alerting capabilities. 
The warning is displayed directly in the software and is also emailed to selected personnel in your organization.  The defining aspect is that you choose which weather parameters you want to be notified about – whether it is when the pavement temperature falls below freezing or simply when precipitation begins – you choose the level of monitoring!

 

RWIS online Navigator™

With RWIS online Navigator software, QTT hosts your RWIS data at our data collection facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Your data is viewed using a password protected web site, which allows access to your RWIS data anywhere you have Internet access. RWIS online Navigator eliminates the need for a server, which is a cost effective and hassle-free solution for many agencies.

The major advantage of RWIS online Navigator is that it allows for data sharing opportunities with other users.  Data sharing is not required, only an option, but it can be a huge asset when the approaching weather is outside your RWIS network and viewing weather conditions in nearby regions would give you a head start on managing the event.

RWIS online Navigator is designed for agencies that require all the benefits of RWIS, but do not want to maintain their own server. The software includes the ability to personalize data views and features the same alarming and alerting notification capabilities as our SCAN Web Navigator.  In addition, with RWIS online Navigator, low monthly payments include any product updates, replacement of necessary collection hardware, and regular system status reports from the QTT Service Team.

SCAN® PC

SCAN PC is a basic software package that allows you to view your RWIS data from a personal computer. It is ideal for smaller RWIS systems and can support data from one to four sites.  SCAN PC is user-friendly and offers easy-to-read displays.  Plus, your RWIS data would be accessible from work or home. It is an effective solution for smaller agencies that use RWIS data, but work with limited budgets.
