QTT Offers Streaming Video Images for its Road Weather Systems

QTT has added streaming video capability to its line of road weather product offerings.  Using its PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) color camera, QTT is able to provide reliable, full-motion, near real-time streaming video at RWIS sites.

RWIS (Road Weather Information System) technology and camera images help decision-makers by providing near real-time weather conditions at specified locations.  The use of on-site cameras at RWIS locations, now with streaming video capability, provides additional, and critical, data for maintenance and decision-making personnel.

QTT streaming video images update one frame per second and a separate video monitoring system is not necessary.  A simple installation of the PTZ color camera (model II) at the RWIS site allows for full streaming video capability.  Users can automatically or manually control the camera through a password-protected network.  The camera supports up to 50 presets, pans 360º continually, and tilts from 0º to 90º.  Day and night functionality is incorporated.

Viewing the camera images is easy using a hyperlink on an RWIS software program.  Any of QTT’s user-friendly software programs display the streaming video data – RWIS online™ Navigator, SCAN Web® and SCAN® PC.  Up to five users can simultaneously access the video, and images are returned in JPEG or MPEG4 output (user-selectable at set-up).
